That verse is the standard we hold this company to, and the one we are trying to raise our girls with. In practice it is unglamorous. The connection nobody will ever see gets sealed properly. The wire gets buried to depth on the last run of a hot day, when no one is checking. We do not always get it right — but it is what we are aiming at.
When customers say "it just feels incredible" instead of "wow, that's bright," we've succeeded. That's the standard behind every Spectrum design: lighting should feel natural. People should notice the beauty of the property — not the fixtures. Darkness matters as much as light; the goal is emotion, depth, and visual interest, not brightness.
That philosophy is built on serious study — the Association of Outdoor Lighting Professionals, the International Landscape Lighting Institute, and the designers who defined this craft — sharpened by 500+ completed installations across Southwest Florida, from single-palm accents to estate systems and entire community programs.
We install every system as if it were going in Joey's own home: high-tap transformers with room to grow, direct-burial wire sized for the run, weather-resistant connections, fixtures hidden in the landscape, and mandatory night aiming before we call anything finished. A successful design is one that still looks beautiful ten years from now.

Twenty years on Southwest Florida properties. Ten of them in lighting.
I came up in landscaping — job sites, irrigation, hardscape, all of it — so I know what grows here, how fast it grows, and where the lines run before a shovel goes in the ground. I moved into lighting because maintenance is work you redo. Lighting is work you can stand back and look at. It's the artistic side of this industry, and it's the part where you hand somebody something they weren't expecting and watch their face change.
My first job in this trade was alongside my dad. Spectrum has been lighting Southwest Florida since 2019 — 500+ installations, from single-palm accents to estate systems and full community maintenance programs.
I design every system myself, and you'll see the price while the design is still being drawn instead of after it's finished. Price should be the first step toward a design you'll love, not the last one that kills it. Sometimes that means phasing the work over a couple of seasons. That's fine. It beats guessing.

Ashley Gamez

If Spectrum has ever gotten back to you faster than you expected, that was Ashley. She runs the side of the business customers actually feel — the callback, the schedule, the answer to "when are you coming."
She's also the one who handles certificates of insurance, W-9s and vendor packets, so property managers and general contractors get their paperwork without chasing anyone for it.
She does all of it while raising and homeschooling four girls, which is its own full-time job, and she'd tell you it's the more important one.
When something goes wrong
We'll fix what we break. That isn't a policy, it's just the deal — and on a property full of irrigation, pavers and finished landscape, it's a promise that gets tested.
On one job we cracked a paver setting a pool-cage sconce. The homeowner had no spares and the manufacturer had discontinued the line. We spent a month hunting down a match rather than offering him a patch. He left us a five-star review anyway — after we'd damaged his deck.
That's the part most companies would rather you not hear about. It's also the part that tells you the most.

As-built documentation
Every system we install is documented — transformer locations, wire runs, zone and tap assignments, labeled at the panel. Whoever services the property in five years knows exactly what they're looking at, whether or not it's us.
Paperwork without chasing
Certificates of insurance naming the association, W-9s, vendor registrations — handled by a named person who answers her email, not a form on a website. Compliance-cleared before the pitch, not after.
Night photography, every job
We photograph our work after dark because we're proud of it — which means you get real images of your project to show a client or a board, instead of a stock photo of somebody else's house.
